IBP Masterclass with Vincenzo Capezzuto

WEEKEND WORKSHOP WITH VINCENZO CAPEZZUTO

The Choreographic Language of Mauro Bigonzetti

An intensive weekend of contemporary dance with **Vincenzo Capezzuto**, a dancer, singer, and assistant to choreographer **Mauro Bigonzetti**, and former principal dancer with the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the English National Ballet, Julio Bocca’s Ballet Argentino, and Aterballetto.

The workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore Mauro Bigonzetti’s choreographic world through the firsthand experience of one of the dancers who has collaborated with him and performed his works.

Capezzuto has been a member of Aterballetto since 2005, collaborating for several years with Bigonzetti and performing, in addition to his own creations, works by leading international choreographers such as William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, and Eric Scigliano. Throughout his career, he has performed in numerous countries and received prestigious awards, including the Leonide Massine-Positano Prize and the Roscigno Danza Prize for Dancer of the Year in 2005.

THE WORKSHOP

The course will focus on the study of **Mauro Bigonzetti’s repertoire and choreographic language**, with particular attention to musicality, the quality of movement, energy, and stage presence.

Through studio work, participants will have the opportunity to engage with choreographic sequences and explore the elements that characterize Bigonzetti’s world: a physical and dynamic movement style, deeply connected to music, in which technique and interpretive freedom coexist.

Capezzuto’s experience as a performer and assistant will also provide insight into the **process of transmitting a choreography**, helping participants understand how movement can be absorbed, interpreted, and reproduced while preserving its artistic identity.

A 360° ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE

Another distinctive feature of Vincenzo Capezzuto is his multidisciplinary background. Alongside his work in dance, Capezzuto has built a prominent international career as a singer, collaborating with prestigious ensembles and institutions and bringing his artistic vision to stages around the world.

This dual experience as a **dancer and performer** makes the workshop an opportunity to work not only on technique, but also on musicality, interpretation, stage presence, and the ability to transform movement into expression.

The workshop is intended for **intermediate and advanced dancers**, students at professional dance schools, and professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of contemporary dance and explore Mauro Bigonzetti’s repertoire.
